Special spherical mobile robot for planetary surface exploration: A review

چکیده

Considering the requirements of high scientific return, low cost, less complexity, and more reliability for robot proposed by extreme environment exploration task on planet surface, this article comprehensively reviews history special spherical used extraterrestrial surface summarizes environmental characteristics difficulties different surface. This compares advantages types ground robots points out superiority robots, such as omni-direction, airtightness, zero-radius turning, under-actuated, swarming, lightweight. In addition, research progress exploration, wind ball, jumping fly ball with leg, pendulum driven tensegrity structure, are reviewed respectively. Finally, performance all these analyzed, their application scope given.
